Private health insurance

SAFE11 Sport
We cover you against the risk of injury and illness

So you can get back on your feet in no time - with top-quality care from professionals, for professionals!

As an athlete, your body is your livelihood - it is your most valuable asset.
An injury, operation or prolonged treatment can affect not only your career but also your future.
With private health insurance for professional footballers, you receive the best medical care, short waiting times and a free choice of doctor and hospital - so you can get back on the pitch quickly.

Private health insurance supplements or replaces statutory health insurance and covers costs that would otherwise not be covered, or only partially - such as:
  • Operations and inpatient stays in private hospitals
  • Rehabilitation, physiotherapy and sports medicine
  • Specialist doctors, diagnostics and visits to doctors of your choice
  • Alternative treatments and state-of-the-art therapies

You decide for yourself which benefits you want to cover - tailored to your sporting needs and career level.

For Germany, a private daily sickness benefit scheme is also available (more expensive, but non-cancellable by the insurer!)

Your advantage as a professional: Fitter faster, better care!

With the right private health insurance, you have access to the best doctors, state-of-the-art clinics and personalised rehabilitation programmes - without long waiting times.

This allows you to focus entirely on what matters: your comeback on the pitch.

So that "Comeback Stronger” isn't just a catchphrase.

You play in Austria

In Austria, all employees are automatically covered by statutory health insurance through the ÖGK (Austrian Health Insurance Fund).

Everyone has the option of taking out additional private health insurance.

You play in Germany

In Germany, any employee earning an annual income of €77,400 (2026) or more can choose between statutory and private health insurance.

Given the better cover and often lower premiums, it makes sense to take out private health insurance in Germany.

Employees in Germany who fall below the income threshold for compulsory private health insurance can, much like in Austria, take out private insurance in addition to statutory health insurance.
